i followed these steps
step 1 :use photo booth take  pictures of yourself then save it
step 2: put it on photo shop by opening the file
step 3: set up layers by clicking on the thing down on them bottom right of the photo shop
step 4: use the tools that are given to you like the pencil and the paint bucket
i don't know       self portrait of yourself
in i ct we did self portraits of ourselves first we took pictures of ourselves  then saved it in a file and opened it in photo shop were we could edit it then we opened up layers a background copy and one called layer 1
then we outlined every detail of ourselves then filled in the spaces with paint bucket
